Day 1: DEPART THE UNITED STATES
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy inflight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Day 2: DUBLIN ARRIVAL
After landing at Dublin Airport complete customs and immigration formalities. Your CIE Tours driver/guide will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Next set off on an orientation drive around Dublin city center. See the main thoroughfares of OConnell Street Nassau Street and some lovely public parks as you pass by many historical sites. Stop to tour Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this worldfamous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit in the rooftop bar where you can sample a draft of Guinness. Motor a short distance to your hotel check in and enjoy the balance of the day free for individual pursuits and dining.
Day 3: PORTMARNOCK JAMESON GOLF LINKS – OR EPIC IRELAND
This morning visit Experience Gaelic Games to enjoy a hurling lesson with your group and try your own luck at hitting the ball. After golfers will head to the Portmarnock Jameson Golf Links to enjoy a 12:36pm tee time. The awardwinning golf course was designed by Bernhard Langer and is stunningly located on the Irish coast. The rest of the group will visit EPIC Ireland which celebrates the dramatic story of the spread of Irish culture around the globe and how Ireland has changed throughout the years. Head back to your hotel and spend the remainder of the day at leisure to sightsee shop and dine on your own.
Day 4: BLARNEY CASTLE
Departing Dublin drive into Blarney where you can climb the battlements of Blarney Castle and kiss the famous Stone of Eloquence. Continue your travel through the Irish countryside into Killarney check in to your hotel and settle into your room. This evening you might like to dine in one of them many traditional or modern dinner venues scattered around the charming town.
Day 5: DINGLE PENINSULA DRIVE
Today discover the beauties of the Dingle Peninsula once described by the National Geographic Traveler as the most beautiful place on earth. Drive along the south shore of the peninsula for plenty of vistas of heathery mountains sandy stretches of beach stunning green landscapes and rocky headlands. Pause at strategic locations to admire the views and take photos. Next stop to visit the Gabriel Kavanagh Farm where you will have the opportunity to see some sheepdogs work in their natural environment. Head back to your hotel in Killarney for an evening at leisure.
Day 6: CLIFFS OF MOHER
Leaving Killarney travel into Tarbert and take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary. Next drive along the coast of scenic County Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher one of Irelands most beloved natural landmarks. See magical vistas overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Irelands Western coastline. Then continue your journey into Ennis check into your hotel and settle into your room. You might like to relax or freshen up before a festive evening with your group.
Tonight join in the fun and feasting at Bunratty Castle. Your medievalstyle banquet is served in the Great Hall of the 15th century castle. During and after the meal the lords and ladies of the castle will transport you in spirit to the Middle Ages with their songs and stories.
Day 7: BURREN SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast drive through the Burren an area of rocky limestone hills where several unique flowers thrive. This region also contains many dolmens prehistoric monuments formed by large limestone slabs. Continue into Galway where golfers will head to the Galway Bay Country Club to enjoy an 11:00am tee time. The course offers a challenging 18hole golf course. The natural environment of the area gives the course both its beauty and unique set of challenges. The rest of the group will join a local guide for a gentle walking tour of Galway. See the medieval city walls Lynchs Castle and the narrow streets. Transfer to your nearby hotel check in and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure for independent exploring and dining
Day 8: CROAGH PATRICK
This morning travel to view the conical mountain of Croagh Patrick which is a popular place of pilgrimage where people can climb to the summit. Tradition maintains that St. Patrick fasted here for 40 days. After head to Campbells Pub located at the foot of Croagh Patrick. Here you might like to enjoy a relaxing pint with your group as you pin your badges to the ceiling where many other badges and cards are proudly displayed. Return to your hotel in Galway and spend the remainder of the day free for individual sightseeing shopping dining pubs and more.
Day 9: RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES
All too soon your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your afternoon flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the United States.
