Day 1: DUBLIN ARRIVAL
After landing at Dublin Airport complete customs and immigration formalities. At 9am meet your CIE Tours driver/guide who will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to the coach. Next stop to have breakfast with your group at a local restaurant or pub. Then journey into Cavan check into your hotel and enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure for individual pursuits. In the evening join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant.
Day 2: VIKING BOAT TOUR
This morning drive into Athlone where you will board a replicated Viking ship. As you travel along the River Shannon see the lovely surrounding countryside and learn about Irelands Viking history as you sail to Clonmacnoise. Then continue on to visit Athlone Castle which current structure dates to the 13th century and is famous for being a part of the 1690 Great Siege of Athlone. After head to the nearby Seans Bar Irelands oldest Pub to enjoy a drink with your fellow travelers. Return to your hotel in Cavan and spend the balance of the day free for independent exploring and dining.
Day 3: RYFIELD
After breakfast drive into Ryfield and stop at a local venue to celebrate 9:30am mass with your group. Next visit your family cemetery in Ryfield and have some time to meet with family around the area. After head to Lakeside Manor to enjoy a traditional Irish lunch with your fellow travelers. Return to your hotel in Cavan in time to meet your group in the hotel restaurant for a delicious meal.
Day 4: DUBLIN DEPARTURE
Today journey into Drogheda one of the oldest towns in Ireland. Upon arrival set off on a guided walking tour to see such sites as 14th century St. Laurence Gate Mellifont Abbey Magdalene Tower and Boyne Viaduct. After transfer to Dublin Airport where your driver/guide will bid you farewell. All CIE Tour services conclude.
