Day 1: DEPART THE UNITED STATES
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic Enjoy in-flight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation
Day 2: DUBLIN ARRIVAL
After landing at Dublin Airport complete customs and immigration formalities Your CIE Tours driver/guide will welcome you to Ireland and escort you and your luggage to the coach Next set off on an orientation drive around Dublin city center See the main thoroughfares of OConnell Street Nassau Street and some lovely public parks as you pass by many historical sites Stop to visit EPIC Ireland which celebrates the dramatic story of the spread of Irish culture around the globe and how Ireland has changed throughout the years Motor a short distance to your hotel check in and settle into your room In the evening join your fellow travelers for a welcome drink followed by dinner in the hotel restaurant
Day 3: GLENDALOUGH VISITOR CENTRE
Leaving Dublin journey into County Wicklow and stop to visit the 6th century monastic ruins of Glendalough The visitor centre explains how St Kevin founded this settlement at a time when Christianity was burgeoning throughout Ireland Continue on to visit Johnstown Castle Gardens with over two hundred different kinds of trees and shrubs The ornamental grounds are set aside the exquisite 19th century Johnstown Castle Transfer to your hotel in Waterford check in and settle into your room This evening meet your group in the hotel restaurant for a delicious meal
Day 4: OLD MIDLETON DISTILLERY
This morning travel into Midleton to visit the Midleton Distillery Experience Discover how whiskey is made as you walk through the old buildings At the end of your tour enjoy a sample of the finished product Next drive into Blarney where you can climb the battlements of Blarney Castle and kiss the famous Stone of Eloquence Continue your journey into Killarney check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure In the evening you might like to dine in one of the many traditional or modern dinner venues located within the charming town
Day 5: RING OF KERRY
After breakfast embark on a horse-drawn jaunting car ride through the grounds of the Killarney National Park Then set off to explore the Ring of Kerry which consist of over 100 miles of marvelous scenery See some of Irelands highest peaks on one side of the road and a coastline scattered with golden beaches and rocky headlands on the other There will also be plenty of stops to take-in the scenery and to snap photos Head back to your hotel in Killarney and enjoy some time at leisure to freshen up before a festive evening with your group
Tonight travel to Kate Kearneys Cottage which is situated at the entrance of the Gap of Dunloe Your Irish Night will consist of a superb meal and entertainment
Day 6: CLIFFS OF MOHER
Departing Killarney travel into Tarbert and take a short ferry ride across the River Shannon Estuary Next drive along the coast of scenic County Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher one of Irelands most beloved natural landmarks See magical vistas overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Irelands Western coastline Continue your journey into Galway check into your hotel and settle into your room You might like to relax or freshen up before tonights festivities
In the evening head to Brasserie on the Corner one of Galways most popular dinner venues Here enjoy an authentic Irish dinner with your fellow travelers
Day 7: CONNEMARA SIGHTSEEING
This morning journey through the Connemara Region to admire the sweeping views of boglands and misty mountains As you drive along you will see many sheep that graze freely and tracts of bogland where some people hand-cut peat for home heating Stop to visit Kylemore Abbey for a tour of the elegant mansion and church set beside a tranquil lake Learn of the tales of tragedy romance and royal visits Also walk through the magical Victorian walled garden Next visit a local farm where you will have the opportunity to meet an Irish farmer and to see some sheepdogs work in their natural environment Return to your hotel in Galway where the remainder of the day is free for independent exploring and dining
Day 8: VIKING BOAT TOUR
Leaving Galway drive into Athlone where you will board a replicated Viking ship As you travel along the River Shannon see lovely of the surrounding countryside and learn about Irelands Viking history as you sail to Clonmacnoise Upon arrival stop to visit Clonmacnoise to see the monastic settlement which was founded in 545 and is delightfully set on the banks of the River Shannon Learn about the history of the site and take a walk around to see the ancient monuments Continue your drive into Dublin check into your hotel and enjoy some time at leisure to freshen up before this evenings festivities
Tonight head to Taylors Three Rock for quality Irish food that is accompanied with lively music and dance
Day 9: HOP ON HOP OFF DUBLIN
Spend the day at leisure in Dublin where you can choose from a wide variety of pursuits Use your Hop on Hop off pass to visit several places so you can get better acquainted with the city There are also plenty of museums of Irish interest such as the National Museum the National Gallery or the Writers Museum You may also want to shop along Nassau Street the pedestrianized Grafton Street or Henry Street In the evening you might like to dine in one of the many restaurants or pubs that Dublin has to offer
Day 10: RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES
All too soon your vacation has come to its final day Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the United States
