Day 1: DEPART THE UNTIED STATES
Depart your hometown and take an overnight flight across the Atlantic. Enjoy inflight entertainment and meal service as you travel to start your vacation.
Day 2: DUBLIN ARRIVAL
After landing at Dublin Airport complete customs and immigration formalities. Transfer to your airport hotel where rooms will be ready for check in. Enjoy some free time to rest or freshen up before meeting your CIE Tours driverguide in the lobby of the hotel at 1230pm. Next head to the Coachmans Inn to enjoy a traditional Irish lunch with your group. Then journey into Athlone and stop at Seans Bar Irelands oldest Pub to have a drink with your fellow travelers. Continue your drive into Galway check into your hotel and settle into your room. In the evening join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner in the hotel restaurant along with one drink per person.
Day 3: GALWAY SIGHTSEEING
Today join a local guide for a gentle walking tour of Galway. See the medieval city walls Lynchs Castle and the narrow streets. Head back to your nearby hotel and spend the balance of the day free to sightsee shop and dine on your own.
Day 4: CLIFFS OF MOHER
Departing Galway drive along the coast of scenic County Clare to visit the Cliffs of Moher one of Irelands most beloved natural landmarks. See magical vistas overlooking the shimmering Atlantic Ocean along with Irelands Western coastline. After your visit continue your journey into Shannon and check into Dromoland Castle Hotel one of Irelands finest castle hotels. It is one of the few castle hotels that can trace its ownership back through history to Gaelic Irish families of royal heritage. The castle offers all guests deluxe accommodation and the experience of living as Landed Gentry. Spend the balance of the afternoon relaxing in this lavish setting. Day 5: KING JOHNS CASTLE
This morning drive into Limerick and stop to visit the 13th century King Johns Castle in the center of the city. This imposing fortress with its massive walls and towers has guarded the River Shannon crossing for the past 700 years. Next journey into the village of Adare famous for its attractive main street of thatched houses and colorful gardens. Stroll through the village and take some photos before continuing your travel into Killarney. Upon arrival set off on a horsedrawn jaunting car ride through the grounds of the Killarney National Park. Transfer to your nearby hotel check in and spend some time at leisure before tonights festivities. This evening travel to Kate Kearneys Cottage which is situated at the entrance of the Gap of Dunloe. Your Irish Night will consist of a superb meal and entertainment.
Day 6: DINGLE PENINSULA DRIVE
After breakfast discover the beauties of the Dingle Peninsula once described by the National Geographic Traveler as the most beautiful place on earth. Drive along the south shore of the peninsula for plenty of vistas of heathery mountains sandy stretches of beach stunning green landscapes and rocky headlands. Pause at strategic locations to admire the views and take photos. Next stop to visit Gabriel Kavanagh Farm where you will have the opportunity to see some sheepdogs work in their natural environment. Then drive into Dingle town and stop to enjoy some free time to explore the area on your own. Dingle is an area situated below Slievanea Mountain and faces comfortably onto the sheltered harbor. As a market town and fishing port Dingle has long been well supplied with pubs and opportunities to hear traditional Irish music. Return to your hotel in Killarney for a free evening.
Day 7: FOTA WILDLIFE PARK
Leaving Killarney journey to Fota Island to visit the Fota Wildlife Park an educational institution which caters to groups of all ages. While here you will have the opportunity to see a variety of animals as they roam in a freerange environment. Continue your travel into Dublin check into your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day free for independent exploring and dining.
Day 8: DUBLIN SIGHTSEEING
Today set off with a local guide who will show you around Dublin. The city has been molded through the centuries by economic political and artistic influences that has shaped its architecture. Stop to tour Guinness Storehouse to see exhibits on how this worldfamous stout was first created and why it is so popular today. Finish your visit in the rooftop bar where you can sample a draft of Guinness. Then continue on to visit EPIC Ireland which celebrates the dramatic story of the spread of Irish culture around the globe and how Ireland has changed throughout the years. Return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure for individual sightseeing shopping dining pubs and much more.
Day 9: RETURN TO THE UNITED STATES
All too soon your vacation has come to its final day. Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. You may do some last minute shopping at the duty free stores before boarding your aircraft and flying back to the United States.
